Silk Air Happy To Stay In Davao

Singaporean carrier SilkAir expects to maintain passenger volumes on its flights to Davao despite the entry of competitor Tiger Airways, an official said.

SilkAir is expecting a load factor of about 80% for its five times-weekly Singapore-Davao flights, said Chandran Menon, SilkAir manager for the Philippines, on the sidelines of Tourism Malaysia’s promotional drive here over the weekend.

Steven Tan, head of the airline’s Mindanao office, said the company is using Airbus 319 -- which can carry about 120 passengers -- and the 150-seater Airbus 320 for the route.
