Reproductive Health (RH) bill

More than a thousand youth expressed their support to the Catholic Church’s stance against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) bill.

The declaration of support was made during the 12th Diocesan Youth Convention held in Mati, Davao Oriental from May 4 to 7, 2011.

Majority of the event’s participants came from at least 19 parishes of Mati dioceses plus observers and guests from religious and civic sectors.

“The biggest delegation in years!” according to Maria Elena Didal, Diocesan Youth leader and Secretariat head of the event with the theme “Stand firm in the faith…Do all your work in love.”

In his speech, Mati Bishop Patricio Alo related the theme and the ongoing Church’s campaign to protect the sanctity of life, especially of the unborn.

He expressed joy that there are so many young people that “helps keep the Church alive.”
