Despite what you read in the newspapers and see on your television sets, Compostela Valley is a haven. As a tourist destination, it’s blessed with nature’s magnificent work of art. It brims with natural attractions like beaches, waterfalls, forests, mountain ranges, caves, lakes, rivers, and hot and cold springs. Name it, the province has it!
Once you get to the valley, you will understand why its tourism tagline is “Conquering Compostela Valley.” At one time, a travel writer described the province as “rough, rugged, and mostly undeveloped” – but these are qualities that attract the pioneering, adventurous, and bold who travel off the beaten path.

Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.

The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each morning.
As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.
As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.
One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch, she saw that there had been a terrible cave-in.
Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.
'Hello...Hello!' she shouted. 'Can anyone hear me? Hello!'
For a long while, there was no answer. Losing hope, Snow White again shouted, 'Hello! Is anyone down there?'
Just as she was about to give up all hope, she heard a faint voice from deep within the mine, Singing…..

Snow White fell to her knees and prayed,
Oh, thank you, God! At least Dopey is still alive.”

Getting Your 13A Visa

Getting Your 13A Visa

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS (Section 13, paragraph A in relation to Law Instruction No. 33)
(1 ) Duly notarized letter of application by petitioning Filipino spouse;
(2) General Application Form duly accomplished by the foreign spouse and notarized (BI Form No. MCL-07-01);
(3) NSO authenticated copy of birth certificate of Filipino spouse;
(4) NSO authenticated copy of the Marriage Contract of the alien and Filipino spouse, or if Solemnized abroad, Marriage Contract authenticated by the Philippine embassy/consulate in or nearest the place where marriage was solemnized, with English translation if written in other foreign language;
(5) Bureau of Immigration (BI) Clearance Certificate (get at BI when applying for 13a)
(6) Plain photocopy of the passport/s of foreign national spouse and/or children showing its bio-page, admission stamp and authorized stay of at least twenty (20) calendar days from date of filing.
You'll do all of these things twice. You'll pay an implementation fee for the Temporary 13a and ACR-I Card and then you'll pay an implementation fee again for the Permanent 13a and ACR-I Card.  That's in the Philippines.  In the USA you pay once and get the permanent issued.
When you get your temporary 13a stamp in your passport, look at the date it expires.  You need to apply for the permanent 13a 4 months ahead of that date.  If you don't, you will end up going to a major BI office to pay for an extension.  I had a BI lawyer help me.  Not understanding all their silly rules can cost you big bucks.
(No more barangay clearance or physical)

Put in your diaries.

Paul Fuller on 13a visa

Words of wisdom

Believe me! Until your 13A application has been approved in Manila and you have the written confirmation plus the change of status from Tourist to Probationary Resident stamp in your passport you will not be permitted to leave the country.  At the border, you will be instructed to return to the BI office and make a written application for a waiver (or some such terminology) .  That takes a week at least but gives you time to rebook your flight assuming you hold a transferable air ticket.  Sure the BI attorney confirmed you can leave after the temporary 13a has been approved but they never tell you the whole story unless you specifically ask the question.  If a waiver is granted it has a time limit on it and if you are not back in the country before that time expires you will revert to tourist status and have to start the whole process from the beginning, including all of the paperwork and fees.

The decapitated bodies of the three civilians from Sumisip, a town in Basilan Province, were discovered Saturday in another town, a military spokesman, Lt. Stefanni Cacho, said Sunday.
