News from Basilan

Gunmen released 10 fishermen they seized in the southern Philippines, but held on to two more people, a provincial police chief said Wednesday.
The 10 people were released late Tuesday in Ungkaya Pukan town in Basilan province, 900 kilometres south of Manila, Senior Superintendent Rey Gonzalodo said.
Gonzalodo said the kidnappers were still holding two more people, brothers Ummal and Hamja Tahil, whose family is locked in a land dispute with the leader of the kidnappers.
