> Interesting Travel News from Dennis M
G'Day to all the Friends of Mindanao,

Things in Australia are going well as Lucy and I are still in Brisbane at the moment, then early next month we head off north to Townsville. After a week or two in Townsville we are heading north again up through Glen Innes then west through through St George, Normanton and across to Darwin. After a week or two in Darwin, it's south all the way to Uluru (Ayres Rock). From there it's north again to Three Ways then east through Camooweal, Mt Isa and Cloncurry. Then it's south east on the Matilda Hwy and back into Brisbane. We are really looking forward to this trip.

We keep in touch with Greg and Liz Newport and Lucy is learning to use the computer and trying to understand the Australian accent and slang, it's hard for her, because there is so much to learn. We are keeping our options open about returning to Davao in the future and we would let you know when we know..
Hope this enough information for everyone.
All the very best to everyone and i'm sure our paths will cross again.
Dennis and Lucy Mc L

Just a quick thank you for allowing me to visit your organisation this week.

The article below appears now in my on line magazine.

Again thank you so much

This week I was delighted to be invited for the second time to do a presentaion on container gardening to the Friends Of Mindanao here in Davao City.

This organisation is made up of ex pats and locals whos aim is to bring the groups into business and close cultural understandings.

I was happy to sell some of my home grown produce, but more important I could see that many of the people were inspired to take the message to other family members.

Thanks for the email. Please give my warmest regards to all of you in FOM. I am really quit busy now.
I am still teaching in USEP German language. The Goethe Institute Manila invited me also to Manila, because there is a plan from the government to tie up a partnership with USEP - University of Southeastern Philippines.

Since my name also appears on the website of the German Embassy, I do have a lot of translations to do. Rose and I are also still running two different businesses regarding Consultancy Services forPhilippines and Germany, after we have been licensed by the Immigration Authorities.

Being a Rotary member since one year more and more activities are still waiting for me. And, I am still writing for several publications, i.e. for EDGE Davao since the Editor in Chief added me to the regular columnist list.

I wish you and all FOM's good luck, big success and all the best. Regards from Rose also

> Interesting News from Tony Wilson
We are all OK here; the kids are enjoying school and have made some good friends. I have been running my driving school for students since October 2008 and at first it was difficult to get new students because of the recession here. However, things are looking a little better now and work is picking up. I have also just started approaching companies about corporate driver training and just this week has had one of my old customers contact me with the offer of some work in July.

It's not the same living here in the UK as in Davao, and to be honest, I think the lifestyle we had in Davao was better than here overall. Although I tried to get work in Davao, this is one area where it's easier to get work in the UK if you are good at what you do, than in the Philippines where it's not as easy. We all miss Davao and the many friends we made and for anyone who is financially secure, then Davao is a great place to live...we will certainly return when the time is right for us and when I don't have to rely on earning money there to survive!

We miss you all at FOM and wish you happiness and good health always. Maybe I will surprise you all one day and drop in on one of your meetings...watch this space!!!

> What the FOM is all about
At our meeting on June 17th Richard T gave out a referral, in our referral session, of a home handyman who had done an exceptional job for him. Two days later Markus J needed a plumber. We put him in contact with Richard and the job was done with all parties very happy.

> Bring your Friends
We have two special events that your spouse and friends will totally enjoy. Our next meeting is about the Growing of Herbs. On Wednesday the 29th, we have the trip to Agusan. Friends and spouses are most welcome
