> July 4 Breakfast on July 1

July 4th is a big celebration in the USA. The Philippines has just had its independence day. Out meeting on Wednesday July 1 is a BREAKFAST meeting. We will celebrate independence or national day for each country.

We start the breakfast (optional) at 9:00am. The cost per person is p125 p/head, which includes sausages, eggs and a special banana desert. This is ideal day to bring your lady and join a nice social fun morning.

The breakfast is at Coffee Shop # 51. Bring friends with you so that we have a bigger celebration than usual.

> Dress up in something representing Your country

Come dressed in something that represents your country. It could be apparel, a hat, badge or the colors of your country. We will have quick move around from the team telling us what happens in each country to celebrate their national day.

There is very good interest in the trip on n July 29th; we have 6 places book already. We will undertake a field trip to Richard and Jessa T place in Agusan. We will be taking vans, so it’s relaxing and no need for you to drive. We will enjoy breakfast along the way lovely time for the ladies too arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon we can have a look around the area, a swim or two, arriving back to Davao around 7:00 pm. We anticipated the trip would be p400 p/p for the round trip.

> Interesting News from Frank W

Great to hear from you Ian. I miss Davao dearly. However, lately I have been quite busy with my new employer. I work for Liebherr Mining Equipment in Newport News, VA as their Manager of Marketing & Product Management. Liebher is a $10B/yr family owned company headquartered in Bulle, Switzerland. They are much diversified and part of their product line is Haul Trucks for surface mines around the world. We make the largest truck in the world, the 400 ton capacity T282B haul truck. It is manufactured solely in Newport News, VA.

Presently I am in Lima, Peru where I had to go to an altitude of 4600 meters in the Andes to visit a company Antamina who is interested in buying a fleet of our trucks. Their copper mine is the largest in Peru. I have become suddenly the technical expert to present our product for applications at high altitude! Our future market is definitely at high altitude primarily in South America. Each truck sells for approx. $4.5M USD. Wish me luck! I anxiously wait for the opportunity to sell our product in the Philippines to Xstrata who will be operating the copper mine at Tampakan only a few hours from Davao. Their anticipated start up is estimated to be early 2016.

My wife Mylyn and kids Mealeah (6) and Alexis (4) are doing fine as we are all healthy. I miss Samal Island, Kinilaw, lechon, cold SM including the price, and most of all my good friends in Davao. I trust this email finds everyone in good health and I hope to visit Davao maybe over Christmas to visit friends and relatives. Say Hi to the gang! All the best. Frank
